Lake Anna Home Solutions was born from a friendship, trust and a shared love for craftsmanship and community. Longtime friends and seasoned professionals, Mike, Eva, and Chris joined forces after Chris completed the remodel of Mike and Eva’s Lake Anna home—a project that showcased the superior quality, care and attention to detail that define their approach. Together, they combine decades of leadership, construction and design experience to deliver beautiful and durable outdoor living spaces. Their partnership reflects a simple promise: to craft exceptional outdoor living spaces with integrity, pride and precision—built to bring people together and stand strong for generations.
Mike Matalone
Founder & Managing Partner
Mike Matalone, Founder and Managing Partner of Lake Anna Deck Solutions, brings a deep passion for building—both exceptional outdoor spaces and strong, high-performing teams. With over 30 years of experience in leadership, business development, and talent strategy, Mike launched Lake Anna Deck Solutions with one clear goal: to deliver premium craftsmanship and reliable service to the Lake Anna community.
For the past 8 years, Mike has worked behind the scenes with home improvement contractors across the country, through his other business XP3 Talent, helping them build high-performing teams that drive growth and operational excellence—including Outback Deck, one of the top-ranked composite/PVC deck builders in the U.S. Now, with Outback Decks Guidance he’s bringing that same level of professionalism, discipline and care directly to homeowners here at Lake Anna.
Lake Anna Deck Solutions is backed by Mike’s decades of experience and a proven track record of building businesses rooted in trust, accountability and results. He personally oversees each project, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and safety from start to finish.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys lake life with his wife, spending time outdoors (ideally on the lake), and staying actively connected to the community he proudly serves.
Chris Kohlhaas
Production Manager
Chris Kohlhaas grew up in the Washington, D.C. area and earned his degree in Construction Management from LSU in 1986. With more than 30 years of experience building new homes and remodeling throughout the Fredericksburg area, Chris recognized an opportunity to bring his expertise and building philosophy to the Fawn Lake and Lake Anna communities.
Specializing in waterfront properties, Chris blends innovative design with hands-on construction knowledge, ensuring each project reflects both quality and creativity. His approach goes beyond blueprints — he believes in adding a personal touch to every project, creating a level of care and connection rarely found in residential construction.
At Lake Anna Deck Solutions, Chris ensures that customers are never just a number. Instead of being filtered through portals, clients enjoy a direct line of communication with the person responsible for bringing their vision to life. He values each relationship and is committed to building not just structures, but lasting trust and spaces where memories are made.
Eva Matalone
Director of Operations & Brand Ambassador
With over 30 years of experience building and leading treasury management departments for community banks across Virginia, Eva Matalone brings a rare blend of strategic insight, operational excellence, and customer-focused leadership to Lake Anna Deck Solutions. As Director of Operations, she ensures every aspect of our internal systems and service delivery runs smoothly. In her role as Brand Ambassador, Eva makes certain that each client interaction reflects our values and high standards — creating a seamless, memorable experience from start to finish.
Eva’s dedication to precision, her passion for people, and her strong faith in God guide how she leads, serves, and builds lasting relationships. She approaches her work with integrity and care, believing that excellence honors both the customer and her Creator.
Outside of work, Eva enjoys life on Lake Anna with her husband, Mike. She loves spending time outdoors (especially on the water), playing pickleball, and staying actively involved in the community she proudly calls home.
Jeremiah “Frogg” Lazenby

Jeremiah “Frogg” Lazenby’s journey into carpentry started long before he ever set foot on a job site. As a kid, he spent countless hours building forts, treehouses, and anything else he could dream up — projects that sparked a lifelong passion for creating things with his hands. What began as youthful curiosity quickly grew into a deep respect for craftsmanship, precision, and the satisfaction of seeing a vision come to life.
Over the years, Frogg transformed that childhood passion into a career built on quality and integrity. He’s mastered a wide range of carpentry skills — from structural framing and intricate finish work to custom furniture and outdoor living spaces — always holding himself to the highest standards of excellence.
Today, as our Project Consultant at Lake Anna Deck Solutions, “Frogg” brings his experience, creativity, and dedication to every project he’s part of. He takes pride in listening closely to each client’s vision, ensuring every deck, dock, or outdoor space is built not only to last, but to elevate the way families enjoy life at Lake Anna.
